Plain-English research guide

GLP-related pathways,
compared carefully.

This compares mechanisms and research status. It does not compare products, recommend treatment or establish that one option is better for any person.

01

Different targets

Tirzepatide activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Retatrutide adds glucagon-receptor activity. Cagrilintide acts through the amylin pathway and is not a GLP-1 agonist.

02

Different evidence stages

Tirzepatide has extensive controlled human evidence and regulated formulations. Retatrutide and cagrilintide remain investigational.

03

No personal conclusion

Different trial populations, formulations and endpoints prevent a simple “best” conclusion. A healthcare professional is the appropriate source for personal medical decisions.
